Itinerary
Day 1: Journey to Kibale National Park
+Today, you will drive south-west to Kibale National Park, famously known as the Primate Capital of the World and home to about 13 species of primates. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, with a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax after the long drive, or opt for a guided community walk to experience local life around the park.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
+After breakfast, proceed for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking before entering the forest to search for our closest relatives. Kibale is home to numerous primates including black-and-white colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, as well as bush babies and pottos. The forest also hosts rich birdlife such as yellow-spotted nicator, green-breasted pitta, crowned eagle, and black bee-eater, with occasional sightings of forest elephants. After the trek, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and relax upon arrival.
Day 3: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth NP and Boat Cruise on the Nile
+Today begins with a 7:00 am breakfast before checking out. We continue your Uganda safari with a game drive through another sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring fresh terrain and searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Later, enjoy a three-hour Kazinga Channel boat cruise, known for its hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife. After the cruise, we head to the lodge to relax and spend the night.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP
+You’ll have breakfast and be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This journey is so interesting as you get to enjoy the scenic view of the highlands of the great Kigezi region. You’ll arrive in the evening and then check into your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
+You’ll have an early morning breakfast and afterwards proceed to the park headquarters to have a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The rangers will then accompany you to the thick rainforest to start your search for the gentle giants. Trekkers are always advised to carry their raincoats and boots because the weather there is always unpredictable. There are also some potters who always help with the carrying of the luggage on behalf of the visitors but at a small extra cost. It’s always not easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take and this also depends on the location of some families since some of them are far from the park headquarters. However, it always takes 2 to 7 hours to come into contact with them and the rangers will always be there to guide you. Trackers are also advisable to be physically fit before going for tracking. After your trek, go back to the lodge and have a late lunch(or opt for packed lunch).
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP
+The journey to Lake Mburo National Park is through beautiful landscapes, plantations, and farms. Have a visit to a Cultural Museum—exhibiting the life of the native people of the area. Have lunch/picnic at a restaurant along the way. Arrive in the park later that afternoon and go for an evening game drive.
Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe
+After an early breakfast, we will go on a safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. We will later head to Entebbe, with a stopover at the famed Equator line. Have lunch and then proceed to the airport arriving in the afternoon.
